Coastal Modern

Having grown up in Florida in the '70s, this couple wanted to design a home that borrowed ideas from mid-century architecture. They wanted a design that was modern and simple and that was optimally built to the latest building standards. They also wanted a home that would be easy to maintain in Florida's salty climate. Some of the mid-century details they incorporated are large overhanging soffits, a breezeway, a flat roof, windscreens, and clerestory windows. The end result is a hip modern home that is a nod to mid-century design.
