Sundowner Beach from the dunes at dusk, a modern three-story beach house

After years of traveling to Florida from the United Kingdom, this family bought their own piece of Anna Maria Island just off North Shore Drive: a beachfront lot with an unusually deep stretch of sand. They wanted a modern home big enough for a very large (and fun) family, with every level designed for panoramic views up and down the beach.

The brief for the finishes was three words: simple, modern, beachy. Light wood tones, soft coastal colors, and playful applications of tile and texture make the house an escape from the gray skies back home. Deep balconies, a pool at the dune line, and a private beach walkover put the Gulf at the center of every day.

With some of the best sunset views on Anna Maria Island, the home quickly earned its name: Sundowner.
