Where We Build / Anna Maria Island

Building in Anna Maria

The City of Anna Maria covers the north end of the island. The Gulf is on one side, Tampa Bay wraps around Bean Point, and Bimini Bay sits on the back side. The city is small and almost entirely residential, and it guards that character closely.

Three homes in our portfolio are here: North Shore Residence, Sundowner Beach and Bimini Bay House. Between the Gulf side and the bay side, we have worked through most of what this city asks of a project.

City Review

Anna Maria has its own building department and its own limits on height and lot coverage. We design to them from the first sketch.

Gulf and Bay Frontage

Beachfront lots need a state coastal permit in addition to the city’s. Bay and canal lots bring seawalls and docks into the scope.

Elevation

Homes here are built above flood elevation. The ground level, the stairs and the elevator all need to be worked out early.

Small Streets

Access is tight and many neighbors live here full time. We schedule deliveries and keep the site clean with that in mind.
