Sarasota
BIRD KEY
A residential island in Sarasota Bay, halfway between downtown and St. Armands Circle.
Building on Bird Key
Bird Key is a small island neighborhood off the Ringling Causeway. Many of its lots are on the open bay or a canal, and the rest are a short walk from the water. The original homes went up in the 1960s, and the island has been steadily rebuilding since.
We build bay-front and canal-front homes like these up and down the coast, and Bird Key is just across the causeway from our restoration of the Van Wezel Estate on Lido Key.
Open-Bay Lots
Homes on the perimeter face open water and the skyline. They are built for the wind exposure that comes with the view.
Rebuilding an Older Lot
Most new homes replace an original house. Existing seawalls, utilities and grades all get checked first.
City Permitting
Bird Key is in the City of Sarasota. New homes are elevated to current flood requirements.
Close Neighbors
This is a tight-knit island with one way in and out. Site logistics and work hours are planned to respect it.
