Where We Build
SARASOTA
Barrier islands, bay islands and mainland bayfront, with some of the most significant residential architecture in Florida.
Building in Sarasota
Sarasota’s waterfront is really several different places. Lido Key and Bird Key are inside the City of Sarasota. Most of Siesta Key and all of Casey Key fall under Sarasota County. Each has its own flood zones, setbacks and review process, and the bayfront neighborhoods on the mainland add historic homes to the mix.
Our best-known Sarasota project is the Van Wezel Estate on Lido Key, a restoration that earned a national award for historic preservation.
City or County
Which building department reviews your project depends on which side of a line the lot is on. We work with both.
Historic Homes
Some properties are worth restoring instead of replacing. That is a different kind of project, and one we have done.
Coastal Setbacks
Gulf-front lots carry state coastal permitting. Bay-front lots bring seawalls, docks and mangroves into the plan.
Design Teams
Sarasota clients often arrive with an architect and a strong point of view. We work with the design team from the start.
