Sarasota
SIESTA KEY
Eight miles of barrier island south of downtown Sarasota, with Gulf-front, canal and bay lots.
Building on Siesta Key
Siesta Key is known for its beach, but most of its homes are on the water in other ways: on the Grand Canal, along Roberts Bay and Little Sarasota Bay, or directly on the Gulf. Most of the key is under Sarasota County’s building department, and the north end is inside the City of Sarasota.
Siesta Key is a natural extension of the work we do on Anna Maria Island and Longboat Key: elevated coastal construction, permitted in-house and planned in detail before it starts.
County or City
Which department reviews your plans depends on where the lot sits on the key. We confirm it before design gets far.
Canal and Bay Lots
Seawalls, docks and bridge clearance to open water are worth checking before you buy.
Gulf-Front Lots
Beachfront building adds a state coastal permit and limits on where the house can sit.
Two Bridges
Two bridges serve the whole key. Deliveries and trade schedules are planned around season and traffic.
